South Dakota—The South Dakota Hall of Fame (SDHoF) invites the public to nominate a champion of South Dakota who has made an impact in their community, state, and beyond to be included in the pool of candidates being considered for the Class of 2027. Nominations are officially open November 4 through February 1, 2027, at 10 pm, CT.
While the process is simple, it does include gathering the required materials, answering questions about the nominee’s impact, and writing a summary biography (find a full list of materials needed at sdhalloffame.org).
Last year, the South Dakota Hall of Fame unveiled a new platform, making the nominations process easier than ever, including the ability to create a profile, save your progress, and return any time while nominations are being accepted.
“We recognize remarkable South Dakotans and ensure their stories endure,” said Laurie Becvar, CEO of the South Dakota Hall of Fame. “We’re always looking for ways to enhance our nomination process, and we’re committed to helping individuals as they prepare their submissions.”
The public is also invited to join the South Dakota Hall of Fame for two free virtual nominations seminars in the coming months, where participants will be walked through the full nominations process and have the chance to ask questions.
These seminars are taking place on Friday, December 4, 2026, at 2 pm CT, and Wednesday, January 13, 2027, at 4 pm CT. Attendees can register for these seminars online here, https://www.sdhalloffame.org/nominations-seminar or by calling the South Dakota Hall of Fame at (605) 234-4216, or by emailing info@sdhalloffame.org.
The nomination process for the Class of 2027 will close on February 1, 2027, at 10 pm, CT.
