Menards would like to come to Brookings.
Brookings Deputy Mayor Nick Wendell said the city council will take action on that Tuesday October 27th.
The city owns almost 30 acres of land just north of the Brookings Marketplace development, where Target and Aldi recently opened. Wendell said the council will vote on selling that land for roughly $5 million.
He said the store probably won’t open for a few years.
The vote to sell the land comes tonight night during the Brookings City Council’s regularly-scheduled 6 p.m. meeting.
