Storm damage from the July 2nd tornado and wind storm that came through Huron has left large piles of tree mulch from the completed operation in September. The city is encouraging the public who would like to acquire the mulch for projects to visit the solid waste site east on Huron. With the provisions of FEMA declaration preventing charges for the mulch it is now available. Andrew Hansen with the Huron solid waste department said the public is welcome to take the mulch for any projects that it could be used for.
Andrew wood mulch requesters can do the work themselves or with assistance if needed.
Hansen talked about the makeup of the wood mulch.
Andrew said the free tree mulch offer is open to any member of the public and not just Huron residents.
