On Saturday October 3rd the Spirit of Dakota award will be presented at the Huron Event Center. It is the 40th year of the presentation. The inspiration is the 9 foot sculpture of the Spirit of Dakota which is on the south side of the Huron Event Center. It was created by South Dakota artist Dale Lamphere. At Monday nights Huron City commission meeting Mayor Mark Robish made a proclamation for the 40th year of the presentation.
