Attorney General Marty Jackley announced that South Dakota would receive a minimum of over 52 million dollars in its share of a 17 billion dollar settlement with Meta Platforms incorporated. Jackley said this is something that should have been taken care of by the federal government. Jackley said the most important part of the settlement is the guidelines to be set in place.
The lawsuit against Meta is underway now. Jackley spoke of what led up to the proposed settlement.
He stated how the states settlement money would be designated.
The agreement would take place 30 days after the judge in the case has signed off on the agreement.
