On July 20th 2025 a Sunday afternoon was changed with a powerful storm that tore through the Woonsocket area. Winds estimated between 60 and 80 mph damaged homes and cut off power to much of the area. One of the changes that has taken place for the Sanborn county community is involvement with Konexus which is an emergency weather alert system. Josh Starzman with the Sanborn County Sheriff’s office said the early notification from Konexus is a great benefit.
Starzman said the Konexus emergency weather alert system allows him to include additional information.
Sanborn County residents can access the QR code or the text number to acquire the Konexus app and receive emergency weather information.
