Absentee voting for the November 3rd general election is underway. Beadle County auditor Jill Hanson said there are no late ballot issues this election as there were in the primary.
According to date from the South Dakota Secretary of States office the number of in state voters who cast absentee ballots instead of voting on election day jumped from 27 percent in 2016 to 32 percent in 2024. Jill said Beadle County voters tend to vote by absentee ballot more often in the general election.
