Huron School District business manager Kelly Christopherson gave an update on the July 2nd storm damage at the Board of Education meeting this week. Tiger Stadium remains closed and Christopherson says the district is still working through the insurance process.
An adjustor is on site to inspect the damage again, with hopes that a concrete plan can begin. Christopherson says the light tower replacement process will take time.
Repairs to the artificial turf at the stadium have been scheduled, and repairs to the track has been finished. The roof of the Huron Arena also was damaged, and Christopherson says the roof is patched for now.
Christopherson said the Arena roof was nearing the end of its expected life, although was in good shape prior to the storm. Overall, every building in the school district received at least some damage from the storm.
