The Huron Kiwanis Club and Huron Chamber and Visitors Bureau hosted the State of the School luncheon Thursday at the Huron Event Center. School representatives gave update on their facilities. Doug Pietz with Huron Community Campus spoke of his ten years with the Huron Community Campus.
Superintendent of the Huron School District Dr Kraig Steinhoff talked of a downward trend in numbers with the district. The change from years past put active enrollment under 3,000 before the end of last semester. Dr. Steinhoff talked about one of the positives numbers at the Huron School District being the recent involvement with the Teammates program.
Kenneth Engel, Head of School at James Valley Christian, discussed taking over following a downturn at the school.
