It was announced last month that Huron Regional Medical Center had partnered with Emily’s Hope to install Naloxone distribution boxes. Funding for the program came from the South Dakota Opioid settlement fund designated to Emily’s Hope. The Narcan kits at HRMC are free to the public and are available at all times. Amy discusses what they do.
Through the partnership with hospitals, libraries and law enforcement Emily’s Hope has distributed over 10,000 Naloxone doses statewide. Each distribution box is restocked each month with kits containing 2 doses of Narcan, gloves and information about treatment and recovery resources.
