The addition of an eighth tax increment financing district in Huron was outlined and approved at Monday night’s city commission meeting. The financing will cover site preparation work for a new hotel in the south town development area of Huron. The future Comfort Inn and Suites will be located east of Iverson Motors and north of Faith Alive Church. Ted Haeder with Greater Huron Development gives the time line of what led up to this point and plans going forward.
TIF district 8 will include the location of the future Comfort Inn and Suites. It also includes an area in front of Walmart that social media commenters noticed several weeks ago.
