Attorney General Marty Jackley is releasing information this morning on indictments against one Department of Corrections employee, two inmates and two members of the public. That’s the result of a months-long probe that followed overdose deaths of inmates in the South Dakota Penitentiary.
The Attorney General says the overdose deaths provoked the question of “where are the drugs coming from.”
Jackley says the probe was carried out by the division of Criminal Investigation. The DOC employee who was indicted is identified as Carson DeYoung. One of the citizens indicted is from South Dakota…the other from Colorado.
Meth distribution charges were handed down for all five suspects.
