The Huron School District Foundation and Huron community service clubs have joined together to combine funds for Huron High School students to pursue dual credit courses. Classes available for the grant include Speech, English Composition, U.S. Government and General Psychology. The courses taught in conjunction with educators for Northern State University at Huron Community Campus. Marianne Trandall with the Huron School District Foundation talks about how the funds will help students.
The Huron Sertoma, Kiwanis and Lions club along with the Huron School District Foundation will each donate $700 each year to combine for $2,800 fund. The awarded money will be used to offset some of the cost of the dual credit options. Marianne said interested students should apply now.
Lee Hedblom with the Huron Lions Club said the program gives service organizations a great opportunity to help with Huron youth education goals.
