Four school districts will be collaborating to expand career and technical education opportunities. Hitchcock-Tulare, Sanborn Central and Wolsey- Wessington will partner with the Huron School District to offer access to established CTE programs. Huron will serve as the hub for career focused education allowing students to enroll in specialized courses that their home school districts cannot afford to provide independently. Director of the Huron School District CTE Jolene Konechne talks about when the plan developed.
She said the arrangement for smaller school to access the CTE opportunities without the expense is a big asset to smaller school districts.
Jolene said the recent open house to area schools at the CTE was aided by Huron School district students in the programs.
CTE offering for area school will start this fall.
